Shortlisting Tips

Shortlist and Chill. That's what our Sundays have become I guess in this period. Anyways I feel we can have one more university for the day and even Yocket keeps it first when you look on !! Okay I was trying to build some suspense but figured out I am poor in it.

Arizona State University ( Tempe/Polytechnic Campus, Phoenix Metro Area, Arizona)

On a weekend you probably want me to talk on education. Naah But ASU doesn't it's one of the Best Partying Schools in US. But that's not the probably thing they are BEST in. It is ranked #1 INNOVATIVE School in US . So this is the actual reason why we are discussing it and just like NEU, ASU has jumped onto 100 places in it's ranking in past few years and right now stands around TOP 200 in the world. TIP- But friends keep one thing in mind while taking any university ranking should be not a sole criteria for selection because it is quite much based on the

research background which we all guys are not probably into. !! And I tell you SJSU is one such Uni though it doesn't stands near any of these but in terms of getting you a job it works.

Profile requirements : Unfortunately in my experience there are only 2 favorable cases : 1. 318 , Avg/Good GPA, Less/ Mod Work Experience 2.308-312+, Good GPA, Mod/ Heavy Work Experience See ASU is a bit inclined towards experience in my opinion and if you don't have that in good numbers try having Good GRE. But see don't worry too much these are quite ideal cases.

NOTE :This case is preferably for CS only. If you looking into subjects which are less competitive . You can reduce GRE criteria by 2-6 points in each case depending on subject. And please don't be disappointed to see these numbers it's just for shortlisting and helping you out. You can pick the university if you're near to it and try working hard on your Purpose then. You may get the results.

PROS : 1. College is something what you make out of It !! ASU has plenty of opportunities for you but yes please don't get yourself too much into partying. The Wall Street Journal ranks ASU no. 5 in the nation for producing best qualified graduates and getting a job .( Do I need to add my words after this !!) {It's Intel's favorite grounds to hire and they do that heavily } 2. For Electrical Guys ASU has a great reputation and almost if you managed well you'll be definitely having an offer in Hand. 3. Definitely the campus is huge so that means you'll remain fit and Plus the weather, you're not going to miss INDIA. But Living Costs are just fine to do plus there are a lot of job opportunities in campus as well. 4. Since ASU has a new SE program and if you're not offered an admit in CE the university may give you one in SE. So do not reject it upfront try to consider it.

CONS: 1. You won't be allowed to do a CPT till completion of 2 Sems and there are few other restrictions prior to department. 2. Too many Indians and Chinese in MS programs. I told that before !! You aren't going to miss INDIA and the competition you're trying to run away is still gonna chase you.

I hope this helps !! Happy researching guys and have a great MONDAY ahead ( I know it isn't going to be still ). #wearedifferent #ADMIVO (And friends I could let you know about deadlines but every department has a different one so please go and check it by yourself so there is no confusion) Please let me know which university we should discuss on next !!
