Monash University is an Australian public research university based in Melbourne, Australia. Founded in 1958, it is the second oldest university in the State of Victoria. Monash is a member of Australia’s Group of Eight, a coalition of Australia’s eight leading research Universities and is the only Australian member of the influential M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities and National Academies. Monash enrolls over 48,000 undergraduate and almost 21,000 graduate students. It also has more applicants than any university in the state of Victoria. In life sciences and bio-medicine, Monash was ranked 25th best in the world by Times Higher Education. It was also ranked as Australia’s leading university in Engineering and Technology in 2016. The Monash MBA was ranked number 1 in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit in the category of “personal development and educational experience”. The Monash Faculty of Business and Economics School was ranked number 1 in Australia by Webometrics.
